The Saratoga Wilton Soccer Club is a community based club that offers both Recreation Soccer and Club (Travel) Soccer to boys and girls ranging in age 4 – 19. SWSC currently fields players from Saratoga, Wilton, Ballston Spa, Schuylerville, Glens Falls and surrounding communities. All are welcome to come play and develop their game of soccer.
Recreation Program – SWSC rec soccer is for the player who is just starting soccer or the player who loves the game of soccer and wants to develop and play in a less competitive environment along with their peers.
Club (Travel) Program - Is for soccer players who are looking for a more competitive soccer environment than recreational soccer. Boys and girls with a strong drive to develop their soccer abilities and a passion for the game and are ready to make the commitment to play soccer on a more regular basis. SWSC will teach the skills necessary to enjoy and succeed in the game of soccer. Teams range from the developing team to the highly seasoned competitive team.
Season Dates:
Rec Soccer Program – Fall and Spring – 8 week sessions
Club (Travel) Program – Season runs from November –June.
Registration Dates:
Rec Program - Open registration for the Rec Soccer program is offered 8-10 weeks before the session starts.
Club (Travel) Program – SWSC holds club tryouts the end of June at Gavin Park, Wilton, NY. The tryouts are viewed as a team placement. The goal is to place every prospective player on a team with athletes of similar age and ability.
Ages:
Rec Program - is open for boys and girls from ages 4 to 12 who have an interest in playing "recreational" soccer. (PreK-7th Grade)
Club (Travel) Program is for boys and girls from ages 6 - 19.
Location:
Rec Program Games are scheduled and played at Gavin Park in Wilton.
Club (Travel) Program
Indoor Soccer Season (November – March) Teams will practice at one or more of the following locations, Saratoga Springs City School gyms, SWSC indoor facility (Charbonneau Rec Center in Malta), Wilton YMCA and the Adirondack Dome in Queensbury. Games are played at either Sportsplex in Halfmoon or Afrims in Latham/Colonie.
Outdoor League Play (April – June) –Teams will practice at either the Daniels Rd Fields in Greenfield or at Gavin Park in Wilton. Teams play outdoor games throughout the Capital District. Some select teams may play regional games throughout the Northeast.
Local and Regional Tournaments - Some teams may play indoor and outdoor tournaments during the season (these may require travel outside of the Capital Region)
Frequency of Practice and Games:
Rec Program – During the session teams will meet 2 days during the week. Saturdays 9-10am and Weds 5:30-6:30pm.
Club (Travel) Program - Depending on the team and age groups, teams will practice 1 - 3 times a week. Teams will also play 1 game a week, more if participating in tournaments.
Amount of travel:
Rec Program - All games and practices are played at the same location, Gavin Park in Wilton.
Club (Travel) Program teams travel locally throughout the Capital District for games and regionally for tournaments.
Registration costs:
Rec Program - $70 for Wilton Residents and active SWSC members; $80 for Saratoga School District; $90 Others
For Club (Travel) Soccer - Per player per year Approx. $600-$1400. Depending on age and level.
